Senior Data Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Development: Build, maintain, and enhance our data and machine learning platforms to support business needs and growth.
- Data Modeling: Design and manage large, complex data sets that align with business requirements, ensuring scalability and performance of the related technology infrastructure.
- Data Quality Management: Oversee the implementation of data quality measures, maintaining high standards for Metadata, Master/Reference data, and data dictionaries.
- Data Governance: Oversee the collection, storage, management, and protection of data, reinforcing data governance and regulatory compliance across the company.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Perform daily monitoring and address technical issues related to data, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Security and Access Control: Coordinate with other teams to establish secure access to data objects and domains, ensuring data protection controls are in place as per defined requirements.
- Project Leadership: Initiate and lead corporate-level data projects, while consulting on function-specific data initiatives, to enhance the data services catalog and the quality of data deliverables.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop your team members (Senior Data Engineers) to enhance their efficiency and support their career growth in data engineering.
- Collaboration and Communication: Proactively collaborate with relevant functions to align data solutions with organizational and functional needs. Communicate the status, value, and importance of data initiatives effectively to Executive members and staff.
- Fostering a Data-Driven Culture: Promote a data-driven decision-making culture within the organization, acting as a trusted partner to the Executive team and Functional heads for data services and solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background: B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
- Thorough understanding of the data landscape, including data-related applications, big data solutions, and tools.
- Strong knowledge of data security, from high-level strategies to detailed implementation.
- Demonstrable experience in data management, including master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, and data modeling.
- 5+ years of experience in building and managing BI/OLAP/DWH/DB systems on a large scale.
- 5+ years of experience with ETL processes, big data technologies, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
- 5+ years in software development and programming, with strong proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with cloud providers like GCP, AWS, and Azure.
Specialized Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working with natural language processing, information retrieval, deep learning, and data mining.
Management and Leadership:
- Proven management experience with strong project and people management skills.
- Experience in resource planning and architectural design for large volumes of data and high traffic environments.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on understanding overall business issues and determining innovative data-driven solutions.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle complex projects effectively.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
